What you get

What a new website should do for your business

Your site won’t be my first. Since 2016 I’ve delivered 154 Upwork jobs for more than 100 clients, and 94 of them were WordPress and Divi websites: new builds, redesigns and rebuilds for NewtonX, Keller Williams Realty Consultants, the Institute of Reading Development, the World Food Travel Association, Website HQ and Arlene P., among others. Every one is listed on my Upwork profile.

More calls from people searching nearby

A page for each service and each town you serve, schema markup, and your Google Business Profile connected, so the site shows up when neighbors search.

A price you know before work starts

A written, fixed quote after a free consultation. Sites start at $2,500 and the number does not creep once we agree on it.

One person, start to finish

I design it, build it, write it and launch it. When you call with a question, you reach the person who made the last change.

When people search for a landscaper, and what a landscaping website has to show them

In Michigan, landscaping and lawn care searches climb in spring as the snow melts, when homeowners line up mowing, spring cleanups, mulch, and the patio they’ve been putting off. The companies that fill their schedules in spring are the ones that show up in those searches and look trustworthy on a phone. By June, most people have picked someone.

They decide mostly on pictures. A landscaping customer wants to see work like what they want, in yards like theirs, before they ask for a quote. A website with three stock photos of a perfect lawn doesn’t do that. A gallery of real jobs, sorted by type and tagged by town, does.

Landscape web design that separates lawn care, hardscape and snow removal

Lawn care, hardscaping and snow removal are different buyers. A lawn care customer wants a weekly price and wants to sign up. A hardscape customer is spending real money on a patio or retaining wall and wants to see your work and talk to you. A snow removal customer wants to know you’ll show up at 5 a.m. after an overnight storm. One services page can’t speak to all three, so each gets its own pages.

Lawn care pages cover mowing, fertilization, aeration and cleanups, with prices or “from” prices where you can give them and a sign-up form for recurring service. Hardscape pages cover patios, walls, walkways and outdoor lighting, each with its own photos and a quote form. The snow removal section covers residential and commercial plowing, salting, and when you plow (at what snowfall, in what order). In Michigan most landscapers plow in winter, so one site that switches its homepage focus with the season keeps the phone ringing all year.

Then a page for each town you work in, with photos of jobs from that town.

Questions to settle before you hire someone for your landscaping company website

How should the photo gallery be set up?

By type of work first, then by town. A homeowner looking for a paver patio wants to see paver patios, not mowing stripes. Each photo gets a caption saying what it is and where, like “Paver patio and seat wall, Shelby Township,” which helps the homeowner and gives Google text to read. Before-and-after pairs are the strongest thing you have, especially for cleanups and hardscape. I set the gallery up so you can add photos from your phone at the end of a job, pick the type and town, and they appear on the gallery and on the matching service and town pages. The images are sized so the gallery stays fast on a phone.

How do seasonal offers work on the site?

A spring cleanup special, an early-bird price for the mowing season, a fall aeration offer, a snow contract deadline. The homepage has one spot at the top for whatever’s current, and you can change it from the editor. Each offer links to the page for that service, with the details and a form. Offers that end come down or switch to the next season’s, because a homeowner who finds last April’s special in August stops trusting the rest of the page.

What do you need from me?

Your services, the towns you cover, your prices or price ranges where you have them, and how recurring service works (frequency, billing, contracts). Lots of photos of real jobs, with the town. Your snow removal terms if you plow. Access to your domain, current site and Google Business Profile, and your scheduling software if you want online sign-ups. And a few hours across the project to read what I send and correct me on the trade.

I’m in Harrison Township, in Macomb County, and I build landscaping websites for companies in Michigan and other states, by phone, video call and email. For more on contractor sites that bring in quote requests, see lead generation websites for contractors. If your site is built and just doesn’t show up in spring, look at SEO for contractors or Michigan SEO. My web design page shows how every project runs.

The best time to fix a landscaping site is before the spring searches start. Send me your current site and the services you want more of, and I’ll reply with what I’d change and a fixed written quote.

How it works

How a website project runs, from the first call to launch

  1. 01

    Discovery

A short questionnaire, then a call about your customers, your competitors and what a good month looks like.

  2. 02

    Design

I design the homepage first. You approve the direction before I build the rest.

  3. 03

    Build and launch

Every page built and tested on real phones. Every old page redirected, so the rankings you have carry over.

  4. 04

    After launch

I stay around for questions and changes. If you want updates handled for you, that is my management plan.

Who you'd work with

The web designer and local SEO consultant you'll actually talk to

I'm Ryan York, and WebPossible is a one-person web design and SEO company in Harrison Township, Macomb County. I learned the work as a scuba diver in the Florida Keys, tired of waiting on the person who ran our website, which is why I think about the phone ringing first and the design second. There's no team to hand you off to. The person who answers your first call is the person who designs your website, builds it and checks your rankings.

I hired Ryan to help improve the SEO of my business website and he has been so easy to work with from the time I submitted my inquiry through the finishing touches. He is extremely responsive, organized in his approach, and thoughtful in his execution. I had many questions that I threw at Ryan, and he was able to answer them all, which made me feel really good about the entire process. Since the initial work started, I have added on more page updates because I am already seeing positive results. I look forward to continuing to work with Ryan and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to other business owners that I know!

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about my web design process and pricing

How much does a landscaping website cost?

Mine start at $2,500, with a fixed written quote before I start. More service and town pages, copywriting, a large gallery and online sign-ups for recurring service add to it.

Should my snow removal business have its own website?

Usually not. If the same crew and the same customers do both, one site with a snow removal section keeps your reviews, rankings and phone number in one place. A separate site makes sense only if snow is a different business with a different name.

Can customers sign up for weekly mowing online?

Yes. A sign-up form or a booking and payment link from your scheduling software can sit on the lawn care page, so people can start service without calling. You decide whether they're billed online or you confirm and invoice them yourself.

Do I need a blog on a landscaping website?

Not to start. Service pages, town pages and a good gallery do more. If you want to write later, short answers to the questions customers ask you (when to aerate, when to seed, what to plant in shade) are the posts worth writing.
