The map and the results under it for the searches that bring work: your service plus your town, or “near me.”
Midland is a company town with a steady stream of new arrivals searching for everything. I help Midland businesses be the ones they find.
What you get
You’re hiring someone who has done this for other businesses, not read about it. Thirteen SEO contracts on Upwork since 2016, from audits and setups for Eric W. and Nadia C. to ongoing work for Just Digital, Digital Concierge and Kenedy T., plus the local SEO I run for Captain Hook’s in the Florida Keys. The contracts are on my Upwork profile.

Rankings, Maps visibility, calls and form leads in one report, next to what I worked on and what is next.
Month to month, no lock-in. If the work is not paying for itself, you can end it.

Midland had 42,547 people in the 2020 census. Herbert Henry Dow founded Dow Chemical here in 1897, and Dow’s world headquarters is still in the city. The Dow-owned Michigan Operations industrial park also holds Corteva Agriscience, Hemlock Semiconductor, DuPont Specialty Products, Roquette and Trinseo. MyMichigan Medical Center Midland, a 324-bed hospital, is another major employer.
For a local business, that mix shapes the searches in two ways.
New arrivals search for everything at once. Employers this size hire engineers, scientists and medical staff all the time. Someone who just moved to Midland doesn’t have a dentist, a mechanic, a vet or a favorite restaurant yet. They search Google for all of them in the same few weeks, and they lean on reviews because they have no one local to ask. Businesses with a full profile and a deep set of recent reviews get those first calls.
Business buyers search by capability. Companies in and around the industrial park hire contractors, machine shops, labs, staffing firms and IT providers. Their buyers search for exact services and certifications. A supplier with one vague homepage loses those searches to one with a page for each capability.
A newcomer compares profiles, not websites. They look at the star rating, how recent the last review is, whether the photos look like a real place, and whether the hours are filled in. So the profile gets cleaned up first: the right category, every service listed, current hours, real photos and posts. Then a simple way to ask for reviews, so the most recent one is from this month and not three years ago. Matching name, address and phone number across Google, Apple Maps, Yelp and your trade directories backs it up. None of that is complicated. It’s rarely done completely.
Midland, Saginaw and Bay City make up the Tri-Cities. Midland sits 24 miles northwest of Saginaw and 19 miles west of Bay City. Some searches stay inside Midland. Others, for specialists or bigger purchases, cover the whole region. I sort your services into those two groups, then build Midland pages for the first and wider-area pages only where you can really compete.
Your listings matter here too. A business that serves all three cities needs the same name, address and phone number everywhere it’s listed, plus a Google Business Profile service area that matches the places your website says you cover. When those disagree, Google has less reason to show you outside Midland.
Maps rankings for the searches we agreed matter, search rankings, calls from the profile and the site, and form leads, with the previous month beside them. If we’re chasing Saginaw or Bay City, those rankings are reported separately so you can see whether the wider pages are earning their keep. Under the numbers, what I worked on and why, and what’s next.
Manager access to your Google Business Profile. Photos of your shop, your people and your work. For a B2B supplier, the list of capabilities, certifications and equipment a buyer checks before calling, because I can organize that but I can’t invent it. A few minutes a month to ask customers for a review with a link I give you. And answers to a short list of questions when I write a page.
Downtown Midland has a West Main Street Historic District, established in 1979, with local restaurants, artist co-ops and shops. The Tridge, a three-way footbridge over the Tittabawassee and Chippewa rivers that opened in 1981, connects into downtown. The Midland Center for the Arts, in Discovery Square, has auditoriums that seat from 400 to 1,500. The Great Lakes Loons, a Single-A Dodgers affiliate, play at Dow Diamond. Dow Gardens covers about 100 acres.
Each of those sends visitors searching for food, drinks and things to do nearby. If you’re close to one, say so on your site and keep your hours current on Google, especially on game and show nights.
Tell me what your business does and where, and you get a written, fixed quote. No contract lock-in.
Get my quoteOr call 586-221-0792On May 19, 2020, the Edenville and Sanford dams failed, and about 10,000 Midland residents were evacuated. If your business does water damage, basement or foundation repair, or answers flood-risk questions, write about it plainly and respectfully: what you fix, which areas you cover, and how to reach you. Trading on fear of the next flood doesn’t build trust.
I’m in Harrison Township, about two and a half hours from Midland by car, and the work runs by phone, video call and email.

Who you'd work with
I'm Ryan York, and WebPossible is a one-person web design and SEO company in Harrison Township, Macomb County. I learned the work as a scuba diver in the Florida Keys, tired of waiting on the person who ran our website, which is why I think about the phone ringing first and the design second. There's no team to hand you off to. The person who answers your first call is the person who designs your website, builds it and checks your rankings.
Reviews
5.0 stars from 30 Google reviews, 5.0 from 5 verified Clutch reviews, and 83 client reviews on Upwork since 2016. 6 of the 13 I quote in full, with the source linked.
I hired Ryan to help improve the SEO of my business website and he has been so easy to work with from the time I submitted my inquiry through the finishing touches. He is extremely responsive, organized in his approach, and thoughtful in his execution. I had many questions that I threw at Ryan, and he was able to answer them all, which made me feel really good about the entire process. Since the initial work started, I have added on more page updates because I am already seeing positive results. I look forward to continuing to work with Ryan and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to other business owners that I know!
Communication is key, and that's his strong suit.

I have used Ryan for many years and on many client websites, he has always been responsive, efficient and been great to work with. With his expertise, he has been able to facilitate creating websites I am proud of, and I have always been able to count on him. I trust him completely and have recommended him to my past clients for ongoing work.
Ryan was a perfect fit. He's my first call if I ever need any help establishing or increasing my online footprint.
Ryan had excellent attention to detail and delivered with quality and speed when necessary.
FAQ
For regular search results, often yes, especially for specialists people will drive for. For Google Maps, your reach depends on distance and on how strong your profile is. Midland is 24 miles from Saginaw and 19 from Bay City, so I'd measure first before spending on it.
It can help them find you. Engineers and buyers search for specific services and capabilities, not "near me." Clear pages for each capability, with the details a buyer checks, do far more than a general homepage.
My local SEO starts at $2,000 a month. A single location serving Midland sits near that number. Adding Saginaw and Bay City coverage or technical B2B content raises it. You get a fixed written quote, month to month.
By phone, video call and email. I'm about two and a half hours away by car, and the work doesn't need visits.
Service area
I'm in Harrison Township, Macomb County, on the Lake St. Clair side of metro Detroit. Most clients are in southeast Michigan, and I work with businesses across the state and beyond by phone, video call and email.
