What you get
The primary category, services and description set to what you want to be found for, in the words customers use.
Duplicates and old listings handled, and your name, address and phone number matched to your website everywhere.
A short review link you can text or email, and a handoff note on the few things worth doing each month.
From $400 one-time
One-time. If the profile needs ongoing work after that, local SEO covers it. You get a written, fixed quote after a free consultation. No contract lock-in.
When someone searches “plumber near me” or “massage Lansing,” Google shows a map with three businesses under it before any regular search results. Those three come from Google Business Profiles. For a lot of local businesses, that map brings in more calls than the website does. Google renamed it Google Business Profile in 2021, but most people still search for “Google My Business,” so this page uses both names.
Most profiles I look at have the same handful of problems. The main category is too broad or wrong. Services are blank. The hours are old. The phone number doesn’t match the website. There are no recent photos. Sometimes there are two listings for the same business, splitting the reviews between them. Each one is small. Together they make it easy for Google to show a competitor instead. My own profile has 5.0 stars from 30 reviews, and yours gets the same treatment.
You keep the profile in your name. I work as a manager and you can remove my access when I’m done.
People find this page searching for help in Lansing, Muskegon, Grand Rapids and plenty of smaller towns. I’m in Harrison Township, in Macomb County, and I don’t need to be in your town to do this work. Everything happens inside your profile and your website, and we talk by phone, video call or email.
What does change from town to town is the competition. A roofer in a small town might be one of four on the map. A dentist in a bigger city might be one of forty. I look at who’s ranking in your area before I touch anything, so the categories and services fit the market you’re actually in. In a crowded market the primary category and the services list have to match the exact search you want. In a thin one the job is mostly making sure the basics are filled in and the duplicates are gone.
Google reads the website your profile links to. If the site shows a different phone number, lists services the profile doesn’t, or never mentions the town, the profile has less to stand on. So part of the $400 is checking the site against the profile and telling you what doesn’t match. Small fixes, like the phone number in the footer or the city on the contact page, I’ll point out so you or your web person can make them.
If the site itself is thin or slow, the profile can only do so much, and I’ll tell you so rather than sell you another round of profile work. A new website can help when the current one is the weak link, and I’ll say which one you need.
A one-time optimization fixes the profile itself. Rankings also depend on your reviews, your website and how other sites list your business, and those take ongoing work: posts, review replies, directory listings, pages on the site for each service and town, and a report each month that shows what moved. That’s what my local SEO service covers, from $2,000 a month, month to month.
Most businesses don’t need that right away. If the profile is the main problem and the site is fine, the $400 job is usually the right place to stop, and the handoff note covers the few things worth doing each month on your own.
Tell me what your business does and where, and you get a written, fixed quote. No contract lock-in.
Get my quoteOr call 586-221-0792A one-time cleanup fixes the profile. Keeping it ranking is monthly work: a post or two, new photos, replies to every review, the Q&A section answered before a stranger answers it, hours updated for holidays, and a check that nobody has suggested an edit that changed your category or phone number. Google rewards a profile that looks alive, and a profile that goes quiet for a year slides behind the competitor who posts.
I don’t sell that as a separate subscription. It’s part of my local SEO service, from $2,000 a month, because the profile, the website and your listings have to be worked together to move the map ranking. If all you want is the profile kept fresh, the handoff note from the $400 job gives you the monthly checklist, and most owners can do it in half an hour a month.
Not sure which you need? Send me your business name and the town you want to show up in, and I’ll tell you what your profile is missing before you pay for anything.
How it works
You add me as a manager on your profile. If you don’t have one yet, I’ll walk you through creating and verifying it, because verification has to come from you.
I look at your profile, your website and the businesses that rank above you for your main searches.
I make the changes and send you anything I need from you, usually photos and a list of services.
After Google has had time to pick up the changes, I check the profile again and send you the write-up.
Why me

Who you'd work with
I'm Ryan York, and WebPossible is a one-person web design and SEO company in Harrison Township, Macomb County. I learned the work as a scuba diver in the Florida Keys, tired of waiting on the person who ran our website, which is why I think about the phone ringing first and the design second. There's no team to hand you off to. The person who answers your first call is the person who designs your website, builds it and checks your rankings.
Reviews
5.0 stars from 30 Google reviews, 5.0 from 5 verified Clutch reviews, and 83 client reviews on Upwork since 2016. The ones below are quoted in full, with the source linked.
I hired Ryan to help improve the SEO of my business website and he has been so easy to work with from the time I submitted my inquiry through the finishing touches. He is extremely responsive, organized in his approach, and thoughtful in his execution. I had many questions that I threw at Ryan, and he was able to answer them all, which made me feel really good about the entire process. Since the initial work started, I have added on more page updates because I am already seeing positive results. I look forward to continuing to work with Ryan and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to other business owners that I know!
I have used Ryan for many years and on many client websites, he has always been responsive, efficient and been great to work with. Working with Ryan York at WebPossible made redesigning our website a great experience. Our acupuncture practice recently needed to update our website, and I wanted to find someone we could communicate with and who would be able to produce quick, professional results within our small budget. And just as importantly, I wanted that person to be able to understand the what we are about so that the website could project that to potential patients. We found the right web designer! Ryan is clear, precise and professional. It amazes me how quickly he was able to create a new website for us and respond to any changes we wanted. And all this without having any face-to-face meetings, and for a great price! We are really happy, and I recommend this company wholeheartedly.
Communication is key, and that's his strong suit.

FAQ
Yes. Google renamed Google My Business to Google Business Profile in November 2021. Most people still search for the old name, so I use both. The listing, the Maps pin and the reviews are the same thing.
A full pass on one profile. I fix the categories, services, description, hours and service area, add photos, make the details match your website, and check for duplicate listings. You get a short write-up of what I changed and what's left for you to keep up.
Yes. All of the work happens inside your profile and on your website, so where I sit doesn't matter. We work by phone, video call and email.
I can't promise that, and nobody honestly can. Google decides the order, and your distance from the person searching counts for a lot. What I can do is fix the things that hold a profile back, so you're competing on your reviews and your services and not losing on missing details.
No. You stay the owner. You add me as a manager while I work, and you can remove me any time after.
