The map and the results under it for the searches that bring work: your service plus your town, or “near me.”

Mount Clemens is a small city boxed in by bigger townships. I help Mount Clemens businesses hold their spot in Google Maps against the competitors next door.
What you get
You’re hiring someone who has done this for other businesses, not read about it. Thirteen SEO contracts on Upwork since 2016, from audits and setups for Eric W. and Nadia C. to ongoing work for Just Digital, Digital Concierge and Kenedy T., plus the local SEO I run for Captain Hook’s in the Florida Keys. The contracts are on my Upwork profile.

Rankings, Maps visibility, calls and form leads in one report, next to what I worked on and what is next.
Month to month, no lock-in. If the work is not paying for itself, you can end it.

Mount Clemens covers about 4.1 square miles of land, and it’s almost completely surrounded by Clinton Township, with Harrison Township along its east side. That shape causes a specific problem in Google Maps, and it’s usually the reason a Mount Clemens owner calls me.
When someone in Mount Clemens searches “accountant near me” or “pizza,” Google ranks the businesses close to them. In a city this size, a business a mile outside the city line in Clinton Township is just as close as one on Main Street. So you’re competing in Maps with everything in a larger area of Macomb County. Being in Mount Clemens doesn’t give you an edge on its own. Your profile has to outrank businesses that may be bigger, older and better reviewed.
Maps rankings aren’t fixed, though. They respond to things you control: your category, your reviews, how complete the profile is, and whether your website backs it up.
The primary category first. In my experience it moves Maps rankings more than any other setting, and it’s often wrong. A family law firm listed only as “Lawyer” competes with every attorney in the county. Then the address setup. Mount Clemens has a PO box ZIP code, 48046, alongside the main 48043, and Google doesn’t accept PO boxes as business addresses. If you don’t have a storefront, I set you up as a service-area business, the way Google asks. Then services, products and photos, filled in completely, because profiles with blanks lose to profiles without them. And posts and updates so the profile stays active.
Most Maps contests I see in small cities come down to reviews. I set up a simple, allowed way to ask customers for them: a link you can text or hand over on a card, sent while the job or the meal is still fresh. Then I help you reply to every one, good or bad, with a short reply that future customers will read. No bought reviews and no incentives, since either can get a profile flagged.
Yes, because Google checks your website against your profile. I make sure the name, address and phone number match exactly, the services on the profile have pages on the site, and the site loads fast on a phone. Most sites can be fixed. If the site itself is the problem, I’ll tell you before you spend a month on patches, and I also do web design in Mount Clemens.
Many Mount Clemens businesses also serve Clinton Township, Harrison Township and the rest of the county. Pages for those areas help in regular search results, where distance counts for less. They’re worth building when you can say something specific about the work you do there. A page that swaps the township name onto the same text is the kind of thing Google ignores.
Maps rankings for the searches we agreed matter, checked from points inside the city and across the township line, so you can see how far your reach goes. Search rankings, calls from the profile and the site, and form leads, with the previous month beside them. Then what I worked on and why, and what’s next. If a Clinton Township competitor passes you, the report shows it and what I plan to do about it.
Downtown Mount Clemens has a few places that send people searching for everything around them. The Emerald Theatre hosts concerts. The Anton Art Center runs a community gallery in the city’s old Carnegie library building, which served as the public library from 1904 to 1968. The Michigan Transit Museum sits in the former Grand Trunk Western depot. People going to a show or an exhibit search for dinner, drinks and parking nearby.
If you’re a restaurant, bar or shop within walking distance, those searches are worth chasing. A page or post that names the venue and how close you are, plus a profile that shows current hours, catches people who already plan to be downtown.
Tell me what your business does and where, and you get a written, fixed quote. No contract lock-in.
Get my quoteOr call 586-221-0792Gratiot Avenue (M-3) serves the city, and the Clinton River runs through it. Businesses on the main roads get searches from people driving through. Businesses on side streets depend more on a strong profile, because the drive-by traffic isn’t there. I’ll look at where you sit and where your customers come from, then decide which searches to go after first.
I’m in Harrison Township, 5 miles from downtown Mount Clemens. I know which businesses you’re up against because they’re my neighbors too.

Who you'd work with
I'm Ryan York, and WebPossible is a one-person web design and SEO company in Harrison Township, Macomb County. I learned the work as a scuba diver in the Florida Keys, tired of waiting on the person who ran our website, which is why I think about the phone ringing first and the design second. There's no team to hand you off to. The person who answers your first call is the person who designs your website, builds it and checks your rankings.
Reviews
5.0 stars from 30 Google reviews, 5.0 from 5 verified Clutch reviews, and 83 client reviews on Upwork since 2016. 6 of the 13 I quote in full, with the source linked.
I hired Ryan to help improve the SEO of my business website and he has been so easy to work with from the time I submitted my inquiry through the finishing touches. He is extremely responsive, organized in his approach, and thoughtful in his execution. I had many questions that I threw at Ryan, and he was able to answer them all, which made me feel really good about the entire process. Since the initial work started, I have added on more page updates because I am already seeing positive results. I look forward to continuing to work with Ryan and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to other business owners that I know!
Communication is key, and that's his strong suit.
Ryan was phenomenal to work with! He asked great questions, understood our project, and delivered without issue and right on schedule. I definitely will re-hire and recommend him.
I have used Ryan for many years and on many client websites, he has always been responsive, efficient and been great to work with. With his expertise, he has been able to facilitate creating websites I am proud of, and I have always been able to count on him. I trust him completely and have recommended him to my past clients for ongoing work.
Ryan was a perfect fit. He's my first call if I ever need any help establishing or increasing my online footprint.
Ryan had excellent attention to detail and delivered with quality and speed when necessary.
FAQ
No. Google's guidelines say PO boxes and remote mailboxes aren't acceptable addresses. If you work from home or go to your customers, set the profile up as a service-area business and hide the address instead.
Usually more reviews, a better-chosen category or a stronger website behind the profile. Distance plays a part too, and in a city this small, a competitor a mile outside the line is still close to most searchers. Those are things I can measure and work on.
Not unless it's part of your real business name. Google doesn't allow extra information in the name field, and stuffed names get suspended or edited. Put the town in your website, your services and your posts instead.
My local SEO starts at $2,000 a month. A single-location business in a small market like this often sits near that floor. You get a fixed written quote, and it's month to month.
By phone, video call and email. I'm about 14 minutes away in Harrison Township, but none of the work needs a visit.
