Show up where neighbors are looking
The map and the results under it for the searches that bring work: your service plus your town, or “near me.”
I help electrical contractors show up in Google Maps and local search for the jobs they want. I'm in Macomb County and work with electricians across Michigan.
What you get
You’re hiring someone who has done this for other businesses, not read about it. Thirteen SEO contracts on Upwork since 2016, from audits and setups for Eric W. and Nadia C. to ongoing work for Just Digital, Digital Concierge and Kenedy T., plus the local SEO I run for Captain Hook’s in the Florida Keys. The contracts are on my Upwork profile.
The map and the results under it for the searches that bring work: your service plus your town, or “near me.”
Rankings, Maps visibility, calls and form leads in one report, next to what I worked on and what is next.
Month to month, no lock-in. If the work is not paying for itself, you can end it.
From $2,000 per month
The price depends on how many locations and services you have, how much content you need, and how crowded your market is. You get a written, fixed quote after a free consultation. No contract lock-in.
Homeowners don’t search the way electricians talk. They type the symptom or the project:
The urgent searches go to whoever shows up first in the map results and picks up the phone. The project searches, like a panel upgrade or a whole-home generator, give people time to compare. They read reviews and look at your site before they call.
So the job is two things. Get into the map results for the urgent work in the towns you serve, and have a page for each project you want more of.
For an electrician, the profile does more work than the website. The primary category: “Electrician” for most shops, with secondary categories only for work you really do. The service area: if you drive to customers, I set you up as a service-area business with your address hidden, listing the towns and counties you actually cover. The services list: each service with a short description, like panel upgrades, EV chargers, generators, rewiring and troubleshooting, because Google uses these to match searches. Photos of real jobs: clean panel work, a finished install, your truck. Customers notice when a business uses stock photos. And hours: if you take emergency calls, say so and keep them accurate. If the profile is all you need, my Google Business Profile optimization is $400 one time.
Two electricians in the same map pack, one with 12 reviews and one with 140. Most people call the second one. Reviews also help you rank in the map results.
The easiest system is a text with your review link, sent the same day the job is finished, while the customer still remembers what you fixed. I write the text, and your crew sends it from a phone. Ask them to mention the work and the town. “Replaced our panel in Clinton Township” helps more than “great job.” Answer every review, good or bad, with a short reply.
If you serve 15 towns, you’ll be tempted to make 15 pages that swap the town name. Google ignores pages like that, and customers can tell. I build pages only for the towns where you do a lot of work, and put something real on each one: the kinds of homes there, the jobs you do most often, nearby towns you also cover. Alongside those, a page for each project you want more of, like panel upgrades or EV chargers, written the way customers search.
Yes. In Michigan, electrical licenses come from LARA’s Bureau of Construction Codes, and the skilled trades rules (R 339.5102) bar anyone without a license from advertising work that requires one. I put your license number in the footer and on your contact page. Customers who check it trust you more, and it separates you from the handyman listings.
Manager access to your Google Business Profile. Photos from real jobs, taken on a phone before you pack up. The towns that bring in most of your work, and the jobs you want more of. Your license number as it appears on the license. A crew that will send the review text at the end of the job. And the suppliers, builders and groups you already know, because that’s where an electrician’s local links come from.
Tell me what your business does and where, and you get a written, fixed quote. No contract lock-in.

If you need a new site first, read electrician website design, which covers what the site itself has to do before SEO can work on it, or start with my tradesman website cost guide. For the searches themselves, grouped by job and intent, see electrician SEO keywords. Electricians are one of the trades on my SEO for contractors page, which covers what’s common to all of them. My plumbers website cost guide is a close comparison, since plumbers and electricians compete for calls the same way. Who you'd work with
I'm Ryan York, and WebPossible is a one-person web design and SEO company in Harrison Township, Macomb County. I learned the work as a scuba diver in the Florida Keys, tired of waiting on the person who ran our website, which is why I think about the phone ringing first and the design second. There's no team to hand you off to. The person who answers your first call is the person who designs your website, builds it and checks your rankings.
Reviews
5.0 stars from 30 Google reviews, 5.0 from 5 verified Clutch reviews, and 83 client reviews on Upwork since 2016. 6 of the 13 I quote in full, with the source linked.
I hired Ryan to help improve the SEO of my business website and he has been so easy to work with from the time I submitted my inquiry through the finishing touches. He is extremely responsive, organized in his approach, and thoughtful in his execution. I had many questions that I threw at Ryan, and he was able to answer them all, which made me feel really good about the entire process. Since the initial work started, I have added on more page updates because I am already seeing positive results. I look forward to continuing to work with Ryan and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to other business owners that I know!
Communication is key, and that's his strong suit.
Ryan was phenomenal to work with! He asked great questions, understood our project, and delivered without issue and right on schedule. I definitely will re-hire and recommend him.
I have used Ryan for many years and on many client websites, he has always been responsive, efficient and been great to work with. With his expertise, he has been able to facilitate creating websites I am proud of, and I have always been able to count on him. I trust him completely and have recommended him to my past clients for ongoing work.
Ryan was a perfect fit. He's my first call if I ever need any help establishing or increasing my online footprint.
Ryan had excellent attention to detail and delivered with quality and speed when necessary.
FAQ
It depends on whether you have room for more work and which work you want. If you're booked out on referrals, SEO can steer you toward better jobs, like panel upgrades over small repairs. If your phone is quiet, the Google Business Profile is the fastest place to start.
No. Google lets service businesses hide their address and list the areas they serve instead. You still need a real address to verify the profile. You just don't display it.
A few good ones help. The useful links for an electrician are usually local and earned. Think suppliers, builders and general contractors you work with, local business groups, and sponsorships. Paid link packages are a waste of money and can hurt you.
They're worth testing. They show above the regular results with a Google badge after Google checks your license and insurance, and you pay per lead. They work alongside SEO, and the reviews on your profile help both.
My local SEO starts at $2,000 a month, month to month. A one-time Google Business Profile cleanup is $400. If you need a new site first, that starts at $2,500.
