Website design in Key West, FL

What you get

What a new website should do for your business

Your site won’t be my first. Since 2016 I’ve delivered 154 Upwork jobs for more than 100 clients, and 94 of them were WordPress and Divi websites: new builds, redesigns and rebuilds for NewtonX, Keller Williams Realty Consultants, the Institute of Reading Development, the World Food Travel Association, Website HQ and Arlene P., among others. Every one is listed on my Upwork profile.

More calls from people searching nearby

A page for each service and each town you serve, schema markup, and your Google Business Profile connected, so the site shows up when neighbors search.

A price you know before work starts

A written, fixed quote after a free consultation. Sites start at $2,500 and the number does not creep once we agree on it.

One person, start to finish

I design it, build it, write it and launch it. When you call with a question, you reach the person who made the last change.

A five-page site for a service business sits near that number. More pages, copywriting, booking or a store add to it. You get a written, fixed quote after a free consultation. No contract lock-in.

Who’s searching in Key West, and what they want to see

Key West had 26,444 people at the 2020 census. It’s the county seat of Monroe County and the southernmost city in the contiguous United States. It’s also the end of U.S. Route 1, about 130 miles southwest of Miami by air. The population count undersells the market. Key West is a tourism and transportation hub with a cruise port, so many of the people searching for a restaurant, charter or shop here are visitors.

Someone off a cruise ship or in town for a long weekend picks a snorkel trip, a sunset sail or a lunch spot within minutes, usually on a phone. They’ve never heard of you. Your site has to show what you offer, what it costs and how to book, right away, and your Google Business Profile has to match it, because a lot of them find you on Maps first.

Locals still matter. Contractors, property managers, medical practices and service businesses work for the people who live here year round, and those customers search differently than visitors do. They want a phone number, a service area and proof you show up.

Where I’m coming from

I started in the Florida Keys. I worked as a scuba diver there and got tired of chasing our web guy, so I started building sites myself. I learned what a dive shop, a charter or a rental business needs from a website before I learned how to build one. I live in Michigan now, in Harrison Township, and I build Key West websites remotely, by phone, video call and email, with you approving each stage and a fixed written quote before work starts.

Three things about Key West that change how I build

What has a Keys site I run actually done in Google?

Captain Hook’s Marina & Dive Center is a dive and watersports business with locations in Marathon, Big Pine Key and Key West, where it sits on North Roosevelt Boulevard. I’ve handled their website and SEO. From November 5, 2025 to November 5, 2026, their site got 56,933 clicks from Google search, according to their Search Console data.

That’s the kind of traffic a Keys business can pull when the site is built for how visitors search. The same approach works for a charter, a shop or a restaurant: one page for each thing people search for, written for someone who has never been to the island, with the price, the location and the booking button where a thumb lands. A Keys business competes with every other listing a visitor scrolls past, and the one that answers fastest usually gets the booking.

Should my site say Old Town, Duval or Mallory Square instead of just Key West?

The Key West Historic District takes in Duval Street, Mallory Square and Fort Zachary Taylor. Duval runs about 1.1 miles from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic and is the island’s main commercial corridor. If you’re on or near Duval, your site and Maps listing should say exactly where, with a cross street, because a visitor on foot is deciding between you and the next block.

Watching the sunset at Mallory Square is a Key West tradition, and people plan dinner, drinks and boat trips around it. Charters and restaurants that time an offer or a reservation slot to sunset should make that easy to find and book, with the time stated on the page rather than buried in a PDF.

For a business that serves locals, the same rule applies in reverse: say which neighborhoods you cover and how to reach you, so a resident doesn’t assume you’re another shop built for the cruise crowd.

What does hurricane season mean for my website?

Hurricane Irma made landfall in the Keys on September 10, 2017, as a Category 4 storm. When a storm is coming, or after one passes, customers check your site and your Google listing to see if you’re open. A site that’s easy to update, with a spot for closures and reopening news, saves you a lot of phone calls.

I build Keys sites with that in mind: a notice area on the homepage you can change yourself, and the Google Business Profile kept in sync so the two never disagree. If you’re on my management plan, you email me the update and I post it. Either way, the question a customer has after a storm, “are you open,” gets answered before they call.

What I build for Key West businesses

Tell me what your business does and where, and you get a written, fixed quote. No contract lock-in.

  • A homepage that says what you do and that you’re in Key West, in the first line
  • Booking for charters, tours and rentals, tested on a phone
  • Prices or starting rates shown up front
  • Click-to-call and directions with parking or marina notes
  • Your Google Business Profile matched to the site
  • Fast pages that hold up on a weak signal at the dock

Sites start at $2,500 with a fixed written quote, and you own your domain, your site and your profile. If you’re up the road in the Middle Keys, see my Marathon website design page. If your Maps listing needs work first, Google Business Profile optimization is $400 one-time.

How it works

How a website project runs, from the first call to launch

  1. 01

    Discovery

A short questionnaire, then a call about your customers, your competitors and what a good month looks like.

  2. 02

    Design

I design the homepage first. You approve the direction before I build the rest.

  3. 03

    Build and launch

Every page built and tested on real phones. Every old page redirected, so the rankings you have carry over.

  4. 04

    After launch

I stay around for questions and changes. If you want updates handled for you, that is my management plan.

Who you'd work with

The web designer and local SEO consultant you'll actually talk to

I'm Ryan York, and WebPossible is a one-person web design and SEO company in Harrison Township, Macomb County. I learned the work as a scuba diver in the Florida Keys, tired of waiting on the person who ran our website, which is why I think about the phone ringing first and the design second. There's no team to hand you off to. The person who answers your first call is the person who designs your website, builds it and checks your rankings.

I hired Ryan to help improve the SEO of my business website and he has been so easy to work with from the time I submitted my inquiry through the finishing touches. He is extremely responsive, organized in his approach, and thoughtful in his execution. I had many questions that I threw at Ryan, and he was able to answer them all, which made me feel really good about the entire process. Since the initial work started, I have added on more page updates because I am already seeing positive results. I look forward to continuing to work with Ryan and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to other business owners that I know!

FAQ

Questions from Key West business owners

Are you in Key West?

No. I'm in Harrison Township, Michigan. I started my business in the Keys and I still work with Keys clients, including Captain Hook's Marina & Dive Center, which has a Key West location. All of my work runs by phone, video call and email, so there are no in-person meetings, but you always reach me directly.

Most of my customers are tourists. What does my site need?

It needs to work for someone who has never heard of you, is on a phone, and might be deciding within the hour. That means fast pages, clear prices or starting rates, real photos, and a booking or call button you can't miss. Your Google Business Profile has to match the site, because a lot of visitors find you on Maps first.

Can you set up online booking for charters, tours or rentals?

Yes. I connect the booking system you already use, or help you pick one, and put the book button where people look for it. I test the whole booking flow on a phone before launch.

What does a website cost for a Key West business?

My sites start at $2,500. A small site for a charter, shop or service business sits near that. More pages, copywriting or a full booking setup add to it. You get a fixed written quote before I start.
