What you get
Your site won’t be my first. Since 2016 I’ve delivered 154 Upwork jobs for more than 100 clients, and 94 of them were WordPress and Divi websites: new builds, redesigns and rebuilds for NewtonX, Keller Williams Realty Consultants, the Institute of Reading Development, the World Food Travel Association, Website HQ and Arlene P., among others. Every one is listed on my Upwork profile.

Most jewelers who land here want two numbers: what a store they could run themselves costs, and how far that is from the site a luxury brand runs. Here’s the first one, with a source for every row:
| What you’re building | Typical cost | What drives it | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| DIY store on Shopify | $29–$299/mo billed yearly, plus 2.5%–2.9% + 30¢ per card sale | Plan tier, your own time | Shopify pricing |
| DIY showcase site (no cart) | $19–$99/mo billed yearly | Template, your own time | Squarespace pricing |
| Jewelry store, freelancer | $4,350–$14,500, median $9,450 | Catalog size, variants, booking, configurator | Project Cost Estimator |
| Jewelry store, agency | $10,150–$34,800 | Same scope, about 2.3 times freelancer rates | Project Cost Estimator |
| Product photography | $1,000–$3,000 | Number of pieces, angles, video | Project Cost Estimator |
| Ring or piece configurator | $1,500–$5,000 | Number of settings, stones and metals | Project Cost Estimator |
| Apps (configurator, booking, reviews) | $30–$120/mo combined | Which apps you add | Project Cost Estimator |
| Running costs after launch | $60–$350/mo | Platform, apps, maintenance | Project Cost Estimator |
| Enterprise platform | Shopify Plus starts at $2,300/mo | Volume, staff accounts, custom checkout | Shopify pricing |
Project Cost Estimator is an estimating site that doesn’t build websites. The Shopify figures come from Shopify’s own pricing page.
A lot of people find this page searching for the cost of a site like Tiffany’s. Tiffany doesn’t publish what its website cost, and I won’t make up a number.
Codilar, an ecommerce agency that builds jewelry stores, sorts jewelry sites into three tiers in its jewelry ecommerce cost guide. Its starter tier is a premium theme with light customization and standard checkout. Its growth tier adds custom design and often a basic ring configurator. Its enterprise tier usually runs on Adobe Commerce, with dynamic pricing, virtual try-on and deep integrations into inventory and order systems. That last tier is the world a global luxury brand lives in.
The part of the Tiffany look an independent jeweler can borrow is cheaper than it seems. Lots of white space, big and sharp product photos, a short menu, restrained type and one clear accent color. Those are design choices, and they don’t need a big budget. The expensive part is the engineering behind the scenes.
Catalog size and variants. Ten pieces is a weekend of product entry. Four hundred pieces, each in three metals and six ring sizes, is a project of its own.
Photography. The biggest quality lever on the whole site. Bad photos make good jewelry look cheap.
Configurators and custom design. Project Cost Estimator names these as the main cost driver for jewelry sites.
High-value checkout. Project Cost Estimator notes that secure checkout and fraud tools for expensive pieces add to monthly costs.
Appointments. For engagement rings and custom work, booking a consultation may be the main goal of the site.
For a shop with a storefront, that last line matters more than it looks. “Jeweler near me” and “engagement rings” plus your town are map searches first, and the map listing needs a website that agrees with it.
DIY on Shopify is a real option for a maker selling a small catalog. Shopify has jewelry themes ready to use, and you can launch for the price of a monthly plan. Your photos will decide how it looks.
A freelancer fits an independent jeweler or small shop that wants a custom look, a store set up properly and a site that shows up in local search for “jeweler near me” and “custom engagement rings.”
An agency makes sense for a brand with a large catalog, a configurator tied to live inventory, or plans to sell nationally with paid ads. That’s the tier where the Tiffany comparison starts to apply, and the budget goes with it.
A decision on whether the site sells online, books consultations, or both, because it changes the whole build. Your catalog as a spreadsheet: piece, metal, stone, sizes, price, and which photos go with each. The photos themselves at full resolution, or a date for a shoot. Your return, shipping, insurance and warranty policies as you want them worded. Which apps you already pay for, like booking or reviews. The login for your domain, your current site and your Shopify account if one exists. And a few hours across the project to review what I send. If I’m doing the product entry, that’s a line in the quote, so tell me how many pieces up front.
Tell me what your business does and where, and you get a written, fixed quote. No contract lock-in.
Get my quoteOr call 586-221-0792My websites start at $2,500, with a fixed written quote before any work starts. A showcase site with a gallery, appointment booking and a handful of pages sits near that floor. An online store with a full catalog costs more, depending on the number of products, variants, apps and how much product entry I do. Website management, covering updates, backups and security, is $99 a month, month to month, no lock-in. You own your domain, your site and your store.

How it works
A short questionnaire, then a call about your customers, your competitors and what a good month looks like.
I design the homepage first. You approve the direction before I build the rest.
Every page built and tested on real phones. Every old page redirected, so the rankings you have carry over.
I stay around for questions and changes. If you want updates handled for you, that is my management plan.

Who you'd work with
I'm Ryan York, and WebPossible is a one-person web design and SEO company in Harrison Township, Macomb County. I learned the work as a scuba diver in the Florida Keys, tired of waiting on the person who ran our website, which is why I think about the phone ringing first and the design second. There's no team to hand you off to. The person who answers your first call is the person who designs your website, builds it and checks your rankings.
Reviews
5.0 stars from 30 Google reviews, 5.0 from 5 verified Clutch reviews, and 83 client reviews on Upwork since 2016. 6 of the 13 I quote in full, with the source linked.
I hired Ryan to help improve the SEO of my business website and he has been so easy to work with from the time I submitted my inquiry through the finishing touches. He is extremely responsive, organized in his approach, and thoughtful in his execution. I had many questions that I threw at Ryan, and he was able to answer them all, which made me feel really good about the entire process. Since the initial work started, I have added on more page updates because I am already seeing positive results. I look forward to continuing to work with Ryan and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to other business owners that I know!
Communication is key, and that's his strong suit.

Ryan was a perfect fit. He's my first call if I ever need any help establishing or increasing my online footprint.
Ryan had excellent attention to detail and delivered with quality and speed when necessary.
FAQ
Tiffany hasn't published what its site cost, so nobody outside the company can give you a real number. What I can tell you is that the features behind a site like that (virtual try-on, ring builders tied to live inventory, deep back-office integrations) are what Codilar calls enterprise-tier work. For an independent jeweler, a polished store on Shopify with great photos gets you most of the look for a small fraction of the cost.
If most of your sales are custom pieces, engagement rings or repairs, a site that shows your work and books appointments may sell more than a cart. If you sell ready-made pieces at set prices, a store makes sense. Plenty of jewelers do both.
Shopify's plans run $29, $79 and $299 a month billed yearly ($39, $105 and $399 billed monthly), plus card fees of 2.9% + 30¢ down to 2.5% + 30¢ depending on the plan. Apps for reviews, booking or a ring builder add more each month.
It lets a shopper pick a setting, a stone and a metal and see the price change. Project Cost Estimator puts one at $1,500 to $5,000, its single biggest cost driver for jewelry sites. Most small jewelers don't need one at launch.
Shoppers can't hold the piece, so the photos do that job. Sparkle, scale and true metal color are hard to capture. Project Cost Estimator puts product photography at $1,000 to $3,000.
